Benefits Benchmarking 2019 summarizes the results of The Conference Board of Canada’s 2018 employer-sponsored benefits program survey. Between March and May 2018, practitioners from a total of 217 large and medium-sized Canadian organizations responded to the survey (representing an 11 per cent response rate).

The report provides data that will enable Canadian employers to benchmark themselves against their peers and make informed decisions about their benefits programs. It explores a wide range of employer-sponsored benefits programs, including extended health care, dental, life and accident insurance, and disability and casual absence, as well as legally required programs such as CPP/QPP and EI. The benefits programs covered in this report do not include wellness programs; paid time off (e.g., vacation, holidays, etc.); or pension and retirement savings plans.

The report also discusses benefits strategy and administration, benefits for part-time employees, and health care spending accounts (HCSAs).
