Anticipated negotiated wage increases for unionized employees are projected to be 1.6 per cent in 2019; negotiated wage increases in the private sector are projected to be 1.9 per cent—higher than the 1.2 per cent expected in the public sector. We conduct a mid-year survey every year to assess the economic environment’s effect on pay decisions. This report includes a “Winter Update” section that provides an update on pay plans for 2019.
