Stefan Fournier is the Acting Head: Indigenous & Northern Communities & Sustainability at The Conference Board of Canada. In this role, Stefan oversees INC’s various lines of business, including its multi-stakeholder, custom, and field-based research initiatives.

Past Work Experience

Stefan spent over 15 years in a variety of roles, including as an Executive Network Manager, Researcher, and Policy Analyst with the Board, and as the Principal of a research consultancy. Committed to supporting socioeconomic development in Canada’s northern and remote regions, his publications and community-based work have focused on economic and infrastructure development, housing, community resilience, and capacity development. Stefan has sat on a number of research review boards and was a member of the Indigenous Resilience Sub-Working Group for the Canadian Roundtable for Disaster Risk Reduction. He is passionate about working with others to collectively address the challenges and opportunities facing northern and remote Canada.
