Labour Relations Outlook 2021—Part 2: In Conversation with Unions and Employers

This year, the Labour Relations Outlook is released in two parts. Part 2: In Conversation With Unions and Employers summarizes qualitative data from 18 interviews with leaders from Canadian employers (nine) and unions (nine). It walks through the pandemic’s pervasive impacts on bargaining, discusses how organizations have pivoted, and shares insights on the top priorities heading into 2021. While employee safety, mental health, and wages continue to dominate the conversation, collaboration between union and employer partners has been – and will continue to be – vital to surviving the pandemic.
