At the end of the 2020 fiscal year, 1.6 per cent of employees were on short-term disability leave, and 1.3 per cent were on long-term disability leave.

Nearly one quarter of organizations do not have a short-term disability program in place for their employees.

Mental health dominated inquiries to Employee Assistance Programs and Employee and Family Assistance Programs (EAP/EFAP) in 2020, with 92 per cent of calls involving some aspect of mental health.
