Signi Schneider

Vice-President

About

Signi Schneider is a Vice-President at The Conference Board of Canada and leads the Health, Sustainability, and Indigenous & Northern Communities Focus Areas. In her role, Signi is responsible for research programming, revenue generation forecasting, and coaching tomorrow’s best researchers within these three areas.

Past Work Experience

Over Signi’s career she has become a sustainability and ethics thought leader, having worked on everything from assessing the sustainability and ethics risks of billion-dollar financings to writing one of the earliest Human Rights Statements in the finance industry. Prior to the Board, she led one of the largest Sustainability/Corporate Social Responsibility departments in any financial institution; during that time, the organization was named #1 in the Future 40 ranking of Responsible Corporate Leaders in Canada. Teams working under her leadership have been elected to the Steering Committee of the Equator Principles group (the association of banks applying equivalent environmental and social risk management practices) and developed the criteria for Green Bonds (fixed income securities that allow investors to play a role in financing green projects worldwide)—both firsts for Canada.
