Colin Brown is a Research Associate in the Sustainability Knowledge Area at The Conference Board of Canada. Colin’s research at CBoC informs Canada’s path toward Net Zero, a circular economy, and resilient communities. His work on Empowering Communities to Monitor Major Projects in Impact Assessments is internationally and nationally recognized by the International Association of Public Participation.
Past Work Experience
Colin holds an M.A. in Political Science from York University, Toronto, and a B.Soc.Sc. (Hons.) in Political Science from the University of Ottawa. Colin’s Master’s research examined the political resiliency of Ontario’s cap-and-trade policy and how ideological and political-economic developments led to popular backlash. It highlighted the importance of inclusive and reflexive policy design but the need to think strategically in how policies are designed and communicated to make them resilient.
