The Conference Board of Canada and the Mental Health Commission of Canada conducted a survey to investigate the impact of COVID-19 on mental health. Eighty-four per cent of responders reported that their mental health concerns have worsened since the onset of COVID-19. The greatest mental health concerns were family well-being, one’s future, isolation/loneliness, and anxiousness/fear. Survey findings also include the results of topics such as who is hardest hit, top concerns, risky behaviour, and when you need help. The issue briefing concludes with recommendations actions that employers can consider for mitigating mental harms and supporting employees’ mental health.
