Consumer confidence deteriorated in October as restrictions tightened amid the second wave of COVID-19.

The Index of Consumer Confidence dropped 9.5 points in October to 74.1 (2014 = 100), the largest monthly drop since April. Concerns over future job prospects were the main drivers of the plunge.
