The monthly Index of Consumer Confidence is constructed from responses to four attitudinal questions posed to a random sample of Canadian households. The latest results are based on over 2,000 telephone interviews conducted in early June 2004.
Document Highlights
After sliding 5 points in May, the Consumer Confidence Index fell a further 1.5 percentage points to 117.2 in June. This month’s decline is largely due to increased consumer uncertainty, with all four components of the Index recording rising doubt.
