The Conference Board of Canada’s Index of Consumer Confidence rose 1.1 points in December to 103.8 (2014 = 100). It was the second consecutive monthly increase, which bodes well for overall consumption spending entering the holiday season. Canadians appear to be holding out hope for the new year despite the underwhelming pace of full-time job creation seen of late.
