After three consecutive declines, the Index of Consumer Confidence rebounded in December with a gain of 6.3 points to land at 88.9 (2002 = 100). This month’s results indicated improved sentiment with respect to consumers’ finances and their willingness to make a major purchase, although progress on the labour market question remains elusive.
