The monthly Metropolitan Housing Starts publication provides the recent trends in housing starts for 29 metropolitan areas and expectations for starts over both the short and long term.

- There are four CMAs with both positive short- and long-term expectations, two more than last month.
- Toronto’s new housing market remains strong, with positive expectations for both the short and long terms.
- The CMAs with the biggest year-over-year declines in housing starts in November were Abbotsford–Mission, Regina, London, Hamilton, and Kichener–Waterloo.
- Kingston had the biggest year-over-year increase in housing starts last month.
