The monthly Metropolitan Housing Starts publication provides the recent trends in housing starts for 29 metropolitan areas and expectations for starts over both the short and long term. Document Highlights There are four CMAs with both positive short- and long-term expectations, two more than last month. Toronto’s new housing market remains strong, with positive expectations for both the short and long terms. The CMAs with the biggest year-over-year declines in housing starts in November were Abbotsford–Mission, Regina, London, Hamilton, and Kichener–Waterloo. Kingston had the biggest year-over-year increase in housing starts last month.
