Help us improve and expand work-integrated learning

In partnership with

Has COVID-19 impacted your organization’s student hiring and training plans? Are you interested in how work-integrated learning can help your business during Canada’s economic recovery?

If yes, we’d like to know about your recruitment and training needs.

Why we’re doing this

To stay competitive in the wake of COVID-19, Canadian businesses will need talent with practical experience and future-relevant skills. One of the most promising ways to do this is by expanding access to work-integrated learning (WIL).

How you can help

We’re keen to learn about your interests and experiences with the following:

  • Internships
  • Co-ops
  • Apprenticeships
  • Bootcamps and hackathons
  • Incubators and accelerators
  • Mandatory professional practices
  • Applied research projects
  • Service learning
  • Field experiences

Join us!

Be part of a Canada-wide conversation about the role of WIL in supporting recruitment, training, and future talent needs during our economic recovery.

  • Participate in live online events
  • Share ideas in an online community
  • Attend our in-person events that will be planned when it is safe to do so

Based on your feedback, the Business + Higher Education Roundtable (BHER) will develop the tools and resources that enterprises need to provide quality work-integrated learning experiences to post-secondary students, and adapt training plans to the multiple impacts of COVID-19.

Benefits

There are several benefits to participating in a consultation with us.

You will:

  • Be compensated for your time if you participate in a focus group.
  • Get access to resources as soon as they become available through BHER’s online resource hub.
  • Help shape a user-friendly toolbox for Canadian businesses—featuring tips, tricks, and resources on using WIL to address talent needs.
  • Connect with a pan-Canadian network of senior leaders focused on developing WIL opportunities and tools that will benefit businesses across the country.
  • Be in the know as we share early results with our partner network.

Thanks to your input, BHER will be able to expand access to WIL and ensure that Canada’s businesses are creating quality experiences for students across Canada.
