The Conference Board recently released a report that identifies and evaluates common elements among global food safety systems. The 2014 World Ranking Food Safety Performance report provides an overall world ranking of food safety performance in 2014 for 17 Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries illustrated by 10 indicators organizations across three food safety risk governance domains: assessment, management and communication.

Dr. Jean-Charles Le Vallée is a Senior Research Associate with the Centre for Food in Canada at The Conference Board. Dr. Le Vallée's research focuses on food, including recent work on a Canadian Food Strategy, food safety, private and public food standards, the viability of the Canadian food economy, food system performance metrics, food sustainability, produce consumption and marketing, agricultural labour markets, and on the Canadian fisheries and aquaculture sector.
