U.S. Outlook: Winter 2014
The Conference Board of Canada
This quarterly report focuses on the latest economic developments in the U.S. economy,
tracking trends in labour, consumer, energy and housing markets, and examining industries and regions. Monetary and fiscal policy assumptions are also included.
- The U.S. economy will expand by 3.1 per cent in 2014, up from a gain of 1.8 per cent last year.
- The higher growth is due in part to less fiscal drag.
- A decline in bond purchases by monetary authorities will not derail the economic recovery.
