The monthly Index of Consumer Confidence is constructed from responses to four attitudinal questions posed to a random sample of Canadian households.

Document Highlights

The Index of Consumer Confidence increased 6.7 points to 82.2 (2002 = 100) this month. Optimism was higher this month as the balance of opinion improved on all questions, albeit from levels that showed deep concern over the performance of the Canadian economy.
