Based on a sample of 415 companies, the latest edition of The Conference Board survey of U.S. salary increase budgets reveals that these budgets will have a median increase of 3.00 percent in 2011, which is modestly higher than the increases of the past two years. The respondents also project that their salary budget increases for 2012 will be 3.00 percent—an indication that the economic recovery has not yet picked up enough strength to substantially raise salary budgets.
