Document Highlights

Building on its recent strength, the Index of Business Confidence rose to 151.4 in the third quarter of 2004, from 145.6 in the previous quarter. Respondents continue to report a positive outlook for the economy in general, as well as for their firm’s financial position. Moreover, with respondents reporting significantly tighter capacity restraints, the investment outlook is the strongest in years.
