Simon-Pierre Paquette has worked in labour relations since 2002. During that time, his experience has covered all aspects of this field, particularly matters relating to grievance arbitration, human rights, labour standards and privacy. Simon has developed a particular specialization over the years regarding issues involving drug and alcohol testing in the workplace.
A lawyer by trade, he first practiced at Heenan Blaikie LLP, before moving to the Canadian National Railway Company’s in-house law department for over ten years. He now works as Director, Disputes Resolution and Labour Standards in CN’s Labour Relations group. He and his team are responsible for managing the arbitration portfolio for all Canadian collective agreements, as well as providing cross-border oversight and direction on the handling of disputes and investigations.
