Associate Director, Economic Research

About

Shahrokh Shahabi-Azad is an Associate Director in the Economic Research Focus Area at The Conference Board of Canada. In this role, Shahrokh manages the Board’s custom economic research activities, and with his team of economists, delivers customized economic research for clients at all levels of government (federal, provincial, municipal), agencies, industry associations, private sector clients, and labour groups.

Past Work Experience

Prior to joining the Board, Shahrokh worked in the Ontario Public Service for the majority of his career as a Senior Economist and Policy Advisor with the Ministry of Finance’s Office of Economic Policy and the Ministry of Research and Innovation. He served as a Team Leader for the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, providing advice and analysis on the province of Ontario’s multibillion-dollar business support programmes. Shahrokh previously taught economics at Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Richmond, BC, and worked as an Economist and Analyst at the Fraser Institute and the federally funded Center for Excellence – Research on Immigration and Integration in the Metropolis (RIIM). Shahrokh also worked for the federal government at the Department of Human Resources and Skills Development Canada in Ottawa.
