Lisa is a career federal public servant, first learning the ropes in policy analyst roles at Global Affairs Canada and Public Safety Canada.  She joined Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada in 2013 to work on visa policy, and after transitioning through various roles in the department, found her home in Refugee Affairs.  In 2022, Lisa directed the multi-sectoral team responsible for launching the Global Task Force on Refugee Labour Mobility, a commitment made by Canada under the UNHCR Three-Year Strategy on Resettlement and Complementary Pathways to help expand refugee access to third-country solutions via labour pathways that are additional to traditional resettlement. She is now Senior Director responsible for refugee policy, working with IRCC colleagues in operations and settlement, as well as civil society and international partners, to offer persons in need of protection durable solutions via a dynamic and evolving range of Canadian resettlement and complementary pathway programs.
