Document Highlights 

Almost all the students and teachers in Atlantic View Elementary School are involved by linking a variety of curriculum initiatives under the electronic umbrella of the GrassRoots Program’s design and learning environment.

As they complete learning projects and post them on the Internet, teachers and students develop a variety of skills and use technology in the classroom to communicate and share ideas.

This case study looks at the:

  • objectives of the program;
  • activities;
  • benefits for education, teachers and students;
  • keys to success;
  • innovative approaches;
  • achievements; and
  • greatest challenges.
