Emerging markets have a fast-closing window in which to further ease their monetary policy stance, with inflation bottoming out and the Fed’s rate hikes on the horizon. Capital outflows are a serious concern and will undermine emerging economies’ bank liquidity conditions and credit growth, adding downward pressure to capital investment and domestic demand. Latin America appears trapped in sluggish economic growth, even as the region’s economies’ growth rates are diverging.
