After surging in January, real GDP posted a small decline in February. The pullback in GDP was not unexpected given January’s outsized gain. However, the magnitude of the drop in trade volumes reported earlier this week was surprising, providing a clear warning that Canada’s economic rebound is still facing significant headwinds.
