Preparedness in the Private Sector – 2011

This report is based on a survey of executives regarding their companies’ security and resilience planning. The survey asked about companies’ perceived levels of physical security, IT security, business continuity, crisis management, and pandemic planning.

The survey results document the steps companies are taking in each of these areas; how the security function is organized; the roles played by senior management, boards of directors, and business units; funding changes over years; and the extent to which security programs are coordinated with a company’s risk management function. Finally, the survey asked executives to identify the key security risks they face as well as the major challenges in implementing an effective security program in their organization.
