- Expected slowdowns in overall services and in residential construction will limit total real GDP growth in Trois-Rivières to 2.5 per cent in 2006.
- Fuelled by vibrant activity in both the manufacturing and the services sectors, real GDP in Sherbrooke is forecast to grow by 2.7 per cent in 2006.
- After struggling in 2005, real GDP growth in St. Catharines–Niagara is forecast to improve to 2.6 per cent in 2006.
- London’s economy, which has been on a roll over the last few years, is expected to grow by another 2.7 per cent in 2006.
- Thanks to continued bright prospects in the mining sector, economic growth in Greater Sudbury is expected to come in at 1.9 per cent in 2006.
- Economic growth in Thunder Bay, which was very soft in 2005, will remain modest over the entire forecast period (2006 to 2010).
- Overall economic activity is forecast to remain sound in Abbotsford, allowing employment to break out of its one-year slump.
