  • Resale markets caught a break in August. Sales rose on a month-to-month basis in 21 of the 28 areas covered, but remained below year-earlier levels in 26 jurisdictions.
  • Market stances are uneven. August’s sales-to-listings ratio rose from July’s in 15 markets, but remained down from a year earlier in 25. Still, the number of “buyers” markets rose to six in August from four in July.
  • Slowing price growth is becoming more widespread. Year-over-year growth was less in August than in July in 15 markets. But, prices remain above year-earlier levels in all but six markets.
