  • The Conference Board of Canada’s Leading Indicator of Industry Profitability remained effectively flat for a second straight month in June. Improvements in the labour market and raw material prices were all but offset by a weakening Canadian equity market, keeping the top-line index stable.
  • For the first time since February, more than half of the industries followed by the index improved. This positive outlook was led by the services sector, which saw 15 of its 17 industries post positive profitability outlooks, up from 6 a month earlier.
