Some 19 months after the SEC held its own roundtable on universal proxy cards, The Conference Board Governance Center brought together a group of leaders within the corporate governance community for a private roundtable discussion on this hot governance topic. After a small subgroup of the roundtable met with SEC staff, the commission issued proposed amendments calling for mandatory use of universal proxy cards.
