For a third consecutive month, the Index of Consumer Confidence fell, this time by 1.4 points to land at 82.7 (2002 = 100). But the drop in confidence was not uniform, as this month’s decline was driven in large part by a drop in the Prairie region’s index.

The monthly Index of Consumer Confidence is constructed from responses to four attitudinal questions posed to a random sample of Canadian households.
