The Index of Consumer Confidence rose 5 points in May to 99.8 (2014 = 100). However, despite the increase, the index it still nearly a point and a half below where it was at this time last year, and remains far below its pre-recession levels.

The monthly Index of Consumer Confidence is constructed from responses to four attitudinal questions posed to a sample of Canadian households.
