How Canada Performs 2011: A Report Card on Canada

A summary of 10 “hot topic” reports. The first two focus on Canada’s economic performance. We begin by looking back to examine how the recession affected Canada’s economy. We then use forecast data to look ahead to see what the report card for 2010 and 2011 will look like. Three analyses address Canada’s lagging labour productivity. Two others are in the health category. They describe the increase in health-care spending and how lifestyle choices affect health outcomes. One analysis focuses on Canada’s environmental performance and what Canada can learn from other countries when it comes to lowering greenhouse gas emissions, using freshwater resources more wisely, and reducing waste.
