The Conference Board of Canada’s Index of Leading Indicators rose for the fourth month in a row in September, gaining 0.4 per cent. While exports and manufacturing sales have picked up thanks to an improving U.S. economy, these gains were offset by falling commodity prices and faltering consumer confidence.
