The Conference Board of Canada’s Composite Leading Index edged up 2.6 points in April (from a revised 106.1 in March) to reach 108.7 (2010 = 100). The gain hints at better times for the Canadian economy six months from now. Seven of the index’s nine components saw improvements, while two deteriorated.
