Compensation Planning Outlook 2015—Preview

To help human resources professionals prepare compensation plans for 2015, this preview provides key findings related to base salary increases from the full Compensation Planning Outlook 2015, which will be released in October 2014. It is based on responses from the 371 organizations across Canada that participated in this year’s Compensation Planning Outlook survey. One key finding is that the average pay increase for non-unionized employees is projected to be 2.9 per cent in 2015—an increase identical to the actual increase in 2014. Only 2 per cent of organizations are planning an overall pay freeze. Among other findings, the preview reveals that projected increases are highest in the oil and gas industry and in Saskatchewan, and that projected increases are lowest in the health industry and the Atlantic provinces.
