Nurturing Tomorrow’s Workforce
In this research, we use job postings data from Vicinity Jobs and projections from The Conference Board of Canada’s Model of Occupations, Skills and Technology to examine the hiring demand for child care skills by Canadian employers.
Which sectors have the highest overall demand for child care skills? Has a higher demand led to wage growth for jobs requiring these skills? Was this affected by the federal daycare program? How can post-secondary institutions adapt their training programs to equip graduates with the child care skills necessary to navigate careers in healthcare, education, and beyond?
