There is no one-size-fits-all approach to workplace practices across Canadian organizations.

In fiscal 2021, organizations had a variety of standard workweeks, and 30 per cent had different standard workweeks for different levels or types of employees.

Many organizations offered flexible work arrangements. Where possible, organizations should consider offering flexible work arrangements to attract and retain workers.

On average, organizations had 7.9 employees per people leader. This is a decrease from previous surveys and is more in line with best practices.

On average, 2.8 per cent of an organization’s full-time equivalents (FTEs) were human resources (HR) personnel. On average, organizations had one HR generalist or HR business partner for every 142 FTEs.
