Technology Adoption—New technologies continue to radically alter the means by which telecom services are delivered. This increases price competition, but it also allows customers to purchase new services, expanding the size of the telecommunications industry.

Labour Costs—Labour costs have risen appreciably in recent years because of increasing employment and wage rates. Although growth is expected to be slower going forward, tight labour markets will make it difficult to contain costs.
