- Fuel Prices—Lower jet fuel prices have provided a boost to the global airline industry’s profitability. Provided demand for air travel continues to rise going forward (consistent with improving economic conditions), airlines will continue to be in a position to expand their aircraft fleets.
- New C Series Orders—Bombardier recently inked the single largest firm order for its C Series aircraft. The C Series backlog currently stands at 325 units, or about 3 per cent of the global backlog for single-aisle commercial aircraft.
- Business Jet Market—We recently downgraded our outlook for the business jet market, in response to the slowdown in deliveries in 2015 and an anticipated contraction for 2016. Still, the outlook remains positive (but challenging) over the medium-to-long term.
