Breathing Easier: Addressing the Burden of Pneumonia in Canada

The Conference Board of Canada engaged in a three-part research series on the burden of pneumonia in Canada. The first briefing estimated the future economic burden of pneumonia in Canada for the population aged 65 and over. The second briefing examined trends in the development of complications, in those aged 65 and over, after hospitalization for pneumonia, and the impact these complications have on the cost of treatment and recovery. As the third and final installment in the research series, this briefing summarizes the insights generated in the previous two briefings and provides recommendations for action.
