Senior Manager, Marketing and Outreach

The Education and Skills team at The Conference Board of Canada currently has an exciting opportunity for a highly strategic professional to join our dynamic team. We are seeking a Senior Manager with Marketing and Business Development experience. Specifically, we’re looking for proven experience to generate demand and engagement with marketing campaigns that deliver against set KPIs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing Marketing and business development strategies for OpportuNext, The Conference Board of Canada’s digital tool that supports better career decisions. A strong digital background will be necessary to manage an integrated marketing plan consisting of UI webpage design, email marketing, SEM, display advertising and social media. We are also looking for experience creating assets, such as webpages and demonstration videos.

This is a 12-month contract position that reports to the Chief, Partnerships and Education Research with a dotted line to the Director of Marketing. We are a virtual organization and as a remote worker you must be comfortable and able to work 100 per cent of the time from a home office. To be successful as a remote worker you need to be a self-starter, possess strong organizational and time management skills, and be a proactive communicator. Having a home office environment that provides for a productive, professional, and safe work environment during regular working/business hours is a requirement of this role.

Principal Duties

  • Develop and execute an integrated marketing campaign for OpportuNext
  • Define key customer audiences and create the optimum strategy to reach and engage those audiences. Experience with SEM, personalization and marketing automation is critical
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications teams to execute email, social and digital advertising campaigns
  • Lead and implement a tailored outreach strategy that drives awareness to OpportuNext and nurtures leads through online and offline channels
  • Develop and manage target lists
  • Collaborate with internal Content Strategy and Content Development & Innovation teams to build high quality creative assets and multi-media collateral
  • Manage advertising agencies, their deliverables (website optimization, asset creation, digital ad campaign, etc.), and performance against KPIs
  • Manage a detailed marketing budget
  • Review campaign analytics to identify areas of success and areas of opportunity. Embed key drivers of success into future planning
  • Provide clear and relevant performance insights and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Align with brand guidelines and Strategy 2027 priorities.

Skills and Qualifications

  • A minimum eight years of relevant experience
  • Significant experience with strategic planning for marketing campaigns with a strong focus on digital channels and email automation (Marketo experience is an asset)
  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Progressive leadership and management experience with a proven ability to manage close relationships with direct reports, agency partners, and internal teams that drive business results
  • Willingness to embrace change and adapt to deal with uncertainty and ambiguity in your day-to-day responsibilities
  • Commitment to producing high quality work and demonstrating professional values in all aspects of work and interactions with colleagues and customers
  • Bilingualism is considered an asset.
