Marketing Specialist

The Marketing Division of The Conference Board of Canada currently has an exciting opportunity for a creative and highly skilled individual to join our dynamic team. We are looking for a Marketing Specialist who will use exceptional strategic, communication, writing and, analytical skills to drive our marketing campaigns to create awareness of our research, events, and engage with our key customers.

This position is ideally suited to someone who is highly self-motivated and eager to add their unique perspective and insights to shape the way we connect with our customers. You are not afraid to flex your data-driven analysis and presentation skills to advise and execute on marketing campaigns that drive results. As part of this role, you will be in contact with all departments, and be able to handle multiple projects concurrently. You will work alongside a strong team of marketers that collaborate and support each other to deliver results.

We are a virtual organization and as a remote worker you must be comfortable and able to work 100 per cent of the time from a home office. To be successful as a remote worker you need to have a self-starter attitude, possess strong organizational and time management skills, and be a proactive communicator. Having a home office environment that provides for a productive, professional, and safe work environment during regular working/business hours is a requirement of this role.

About the Role

  • Develop and execute strategic marketing campaigns for Conference Board products
  • Write compelling marketing copy for email programs, media, and digital assets to guide customers to purchase, increasing revenue and retention
  • Execute, monitor, and optimize media campaigns, alongside our media agency partners, to raise awareness and drive lead generation
  • Own special projects as assigned – working cross-functionally to engage and support our thought-leaders
  • Collect and analyze data from omnichannel marketing campaigns and identify opportunities for regular testing and optimization
  • Create impactful customer marketing experiences. Strategically build campaigns that will resonate with our varied audience
  • Work collaboratively with Lifecycle Marketing, Communications, and Sales teams to support customer outreach, campaign, and partnership programs
  • Be a master of the customer marketing database; pull marketing lists based on demographic and behavioral criteria
  • Constantly be learning, questioning, and developing a strong understanding of our customer journey
  • Conduct research on competing products in a variety of sectors
  • Strong familiarity with all social media channels, primarily Twitter and LinkedIn, to actively market products and engage current and potential customers
  • Produce high quality work and demonstrate the organizational values in all aspects of projects and interactions with colleagues and customers.

About You

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree or certificate in marketing, communications, or a related field
  • A minimum of four years of experience in a professional work environment in a marketing role
  • Experience using Marketing Automation software, ideally Marketo
  • Experience developing marketing campaigns for B2B/B2C
  • Experience sourcing and integrating data from multiple internal sources to inform decision-making
  • Well-developed and effective strategic, analytical, communication, relationship management and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent writing skills, including spelling, grammar, proof-reading skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to be proactive, multi-task, and deliver on deadlines
  • Bilingualism is a definite asset
