Tiana is passionate about educating communities and individuals about the importance of positive mental health. She has focused her career on helping individuals, by taking a background approach and working with mental health systems and how they interact with the law. This perspective has given her an in-depth knowledge of some of the needs of Canadians and areas that we can improve for positive mental health, as a society.

Tiana is currently working with the Mental Health Commission of Canada as a workplace implementation specialist helping to develop and deliver services to support employers with implementation of workplace mental health strategies that align with the National Standard of Canada on Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace.

Previously, Tiana was self-employed as an independent Mental Health First Aid instructor and communication and conflict management consultant with a dedicated focus on community development. She has a demonstrated history of working in the mental health services industry and a vast amount of experience in the mental health and judicial systems in Alberta, having served on the Alberta Mental Health Review Panel, a quasi-judicial decision making board, for the past 6 years. She has experience working with people who have been in contact with the Mental Health Act, along with front line experience with people experiencing mental health crisis. Through her work with Legal Aid Alberta, Tiana is familiar with issues related to human rights, workers’ compensation and other workplace matters. She is also certified in mediation and conflict resolution as well as workplace fairness restoration.
