Marie Solange Evehe represented Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association in partnership with Naomi Lightman of the University of Calgary, as a researcher for the project: “Caring During the COVID-19 Crisis: Immigrant Women Working in Long-Term Care in Calgary”. Currently Marie is coordinator of the Retail Training program at CIWA, a program enabling barriered immigrant women to enter the labour market. Marie’s interest in research stems from her experience as a faculty member in the University of Yaoundé-I, where her research focused on elucidating the epidemiology and molecular mechanisms of drug resistance in P. falciparum strains in Cameroon. Marie is a fellow of the International Program in the Chemical Sciences in Sweden, and a Fulbright Scholar.
