Labour Market Officer, Government of Yukon

Ann has over 25 years of immigration experience in the North. Her current role in the Government of Yukon, Labour Market, specializes in foreign credential recognition, labour mobility and settlement.

As a former Immigration Officer at the Government of Yukon, Ann worked with employers in the Nominee Program and entrepreneurs in the Business Nominee Program. She contributed to developing the Economic Mobility Pathways Project for refugees and the Yukon Community Pilot Stream for rural areas program. Ann served a term as Co-Chair with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada on the National Settlement Working Group under the Forum of Ministers Responsible for Immigration. She collaborates with the francophone community partners on strategic initiatives to recruit and retain francophones. At Yukon University, she worked with newcomer and international students as an ESL instructor and an academic and career advisor.

Ann has a B.A. from Trent University, Peterborough, and a M.A. from Royal Roads University, Victoria. She is a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC).

A strong advocate for rural and northern communities, Ann will share her experience and knowledge about developing the capacity of remote areas.
