As in years past, PwC’s survey results offer insight into how leaders are navigating the many pressing issues of the day.
The geopolitical landscape has changed dramatically since PwC surveyed chief executive officers around the globe in the fall of 2021. At the time, CEOs, including the 452 Canadian respondents, exhibited a very bright outlook on what the following year might bring in terms of global growth prospects.
But there were also clear signs of worry about the impacts of key threats, such as cybersecurity, macroeconomic volatility, geopolitical uncertainty, and health risks, on global economic growth.
Leaders were also paying close attention to how disruptive global megatrends—like climate change, social inequality, and declining trust—could affect their organizations. If anything, recent developments have only served to amplify the level of concern about many of these threats and risks.
