This report assesses Kingston’s attractiveness to skilled workers and businesses in relation to eleven other Canadian cities. Kingston ranks fourth out of 12 in the economy category, which measures economic well-being, economic growth, and competitiveness. The city comes in third in innovation—its best showing among the three categories—thanks to strong results in PhDs and knowledge employment. Kingston sits in sixth in the society category, which attempts to gauge a city’s quality of life. The following cities are benchmarked:
