The composite leading index of the Canadian economy sums up the performance of nine components that track the short-term course of the economy.
Document Highlights
- The Conference Board of Canada’s Composite Leading index fell 0.6 points to 106.9 (2014=100) in December. This month’s decline follows a revised 0.7 point increase in November.
- With December’s decline, the index is now at its second lowest level in over two years which suggests slower economic growth ahead.
