Interesting article that is easy to read.  I guess what we need to remember that there may be commonalities within generational groups, we are, ultimately, individuals.

Good overview of the issues (and some of the myths) about generations in the workplace. Unfortunately we tend to paint generations as stereotypes, when in fact we need to focus on individual attitudes, attributes and skills regardless of when someone was born. I think the lesson from the study is that management needs to take a more personalized approach to the workforce rather than attempting 'one size fits all' strategies based on age.

Maybe the short answer to generational differences that affect performance is teaching people how to adapt and be flexible when necessary.

It's important to keep in mind that this type of analysis is very general and borders on supporting stereotypes.  That being said it is a tool to help begin conversations about management practices.  Strategically speaking I believe management is better off hiring for measured value congruency than managing for generalized values.
That being said, this document provides some great information for starting conversations with employees about what is important.

Very useful in terms of suggesting the major differences between the generations in the workplace and in how to address these.
